KAMUELA, HI - Many older adults, and their family members and friends who care for them, experience concerns about falling and often as a result, restrict physical activity.
The Queen’s North Hawai’Ii Community Hospital Trauma Program is offering
“A Matter Of Balance,” an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase older adults’ activity levels. This FREE weekly class will be offered virtually on Wednesdays from 1-3 pm, March 12 - May 7, 2025.
This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.
Participants will learn to:
- View falls as controllable
- Set goals for increasing activity
- Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
- Exercise to increase strength and balance
Who Should Attend?
- Anyone concerned about falls
- Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
- Anyone who has fallen in the past
- Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns
