• 2022-2024 STRATEGIC PLAN

  • Incorporated in 1968, the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce (KKCC) is a non-profit organization with 460 members that works to strengthen the local economy while promoting the well-being of the community. We present 2022-2024 KKCC Strategic Plan that clearly outlines the organization’s direction while offering practical tactics to guide the process.

    • MISSION: To provide leadership and advocacy for a successful business environment in West Hawaiʻi.
    • VISION: To enhance the quality of life for our community through a strong, sustainable economy on Hawaiʻi Island.

  • STRATEGIC IMPERATIVE #1:  BUSINESS ADVOCACY

    Advocate for West Hawaiʻi’s business community by addressing key issues.

    Tactical Implementation:

    • Focus on the Chamber’s current top priorities of Housing, Water Development, Astronomy, and Homelessness.

    • Amplify advocacy efforts by leveraging virtual opportunities, encouraging more Chamber member involvement, and strengthening alliances.

    • Increase the Chamber’s connection to government officials that includes invitations to board, committee, and general membership meetings.

     

    STRATEGIC IMPERATIVE #2: COMMUNICATIONS

    Communicate important information that affects our members and community.

    Tactical Implementation:

    • Act as a communications hub by receiving and disseminating timely, relevant information using multiple delivery methods.

    • Enhance the Chamber’s public relations and marketing strategy to communicate the organization’s actions and value.

    • Transition to more automation where possible with online and digital services.

     

    STRATEGIC IMPERATIVE #3: MEMBER OPPORTUNITIES

    Offer innovative opportunities to connect, educate and promote our members.

    Tactical Implementation:

    • Conduct gatherings (virtual and in-person) where members can network, build relationships and connect to the membership and business community.

    • Offer educational seminars (virtual and in-person) based on member interest.

    • Provide benefits and services to expand reach and increase visibility for members with a continued focus on leveraging the Chamber’s targeted emails, website, newsfeed and social media.

     

    STRATEGIC IMPERATIVE #4: MEMBERSHIP

    Demonstrate the Chamber’s value to engage and build the membership.

    Tactical Implementation:

    • Build and strengthen volunteerism to enhance member engagement and achieve greater capacity for the organization.

    • Improve tools to make it easy for Chamber members to recruit new members throughout the year.

    • Continue to develop strong Chamber leadership at the committee and board levels with a welcome approach and supportive framework.
