Kailua-Kona, HI – Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) is pleased to announce Steven Kaneko as the new Branch Manager of its Kealakekua Branch. Born and raised in Kona, Steven brings over 30 years of banking experience, deep community ties, and a strong commitment to serving Hawaiʻi Island residents.
Steven joins HCFCU after a successful 23-year career with Bank of Hawaii, where he excelled in roles such as Business Banking Officer, Branch Manager, and most recently, Commercial Banking Officer. Prior to that, he built his banking foundation at Finance Factors, serving as a Management Trainee, Loan Officer, and eventually Branch Manager.
Since returning to Kona in 2010, Steven has been an active and dedicated member of his community. He currently serves as Treasurer for the Japanese Cultural Center of Kona, Vice President of the Kona Japanese Civic Association, Secretary of the Konawaena Foundation, Assistant Treasurer for the Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, and is an active member of the Lions Club of Kona.
An alum of the University of Michigan, Steven earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in Marketing. He is a proud 2007 Honolulu Marathon finisher and enjoys spending his free time with his family and on the golf course.
