    CU Hawai'i is excited to celebrate Hawai'i Island's 2025 graduating high school seniors and current college students by helping to provide MORE POSSIBILITIES for their academic futures with $25,000 worth of scholarships!

    Description
    CU Hawai'i is creating MORE POSSIBILITIES with $25,000 worth of scholarships! 

    We will be awarding six (6) scholarships for Hawai'i Island Class of 2025 public or private high school graduates. We are also awarding four (4) scholarships to undergraduate college students who graduated from a Hawai'i Island public or private High School or are residing on Hawai'i Island and attending a 2-year, 4-year, college, university, trade, or vocational school on Hawai'i Island.

    Each selected scholarship recipients will be awarded a $2,500 scholarships.

    Scholarship awards are being presented to provide MORE POSSIBILITIES by supporting our Hawai'i Island students in furthering their education.

    Qualifications 
    Applications must meet ALL the following criteria:

    Must be a Hawai'i Island high school senior graduating within school year 2024-25 OR

    an undergraduate student who graduated from a Hawai'i Island private or public high school or are residing on Hawai'i Island and attending a 2-year, 4-year, college, university, trade, or vocational school on Hawai'i Island.

    Must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0.

    Provide a statement of financial need to pay for post-secondary education.

    Must enroll for Fall 2025 as a freshman or continuing student in a full-time study at a 2-year, 4-year, college, university, trade, or vocational school on Hawai'i Island. The school must be an accredited U.S. institution, and listed on the official website for the U.S. Department of Education.

    Documentation Required:

    Completed CU Hawaii More Possibilities Scholarship Application.

    Current Transcript (unofficial transcript is accepted).

    Undergraduate applicants: Copy of high school diploma or equivalent.

    Letter of Recommendation

    Resume of current or previous work, volunteer, community engagements, sports, clubs, etc.

    Essay response to the following prompt: What do you believe you need to accomplish your academic goal(s)? How do you plan to utilize your education and/or training to contribute to our Hawaii Island community?

    (Single spaced, 12 pt font, min. 250 max. 500 words)

    Statement of financial need. (Single spaced, 12 pt. font, min. 200 max. 500 words)

    Short Answer Questionnaire. (150-word max/response)
