AT HOSPICE OF KONA’S MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER

 

Kailua Kona, HI— Avid golfers from around the country are flying in for Hospice of Kona’s Memorial Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for Nakamaru Hale, Hospice of Kona’s residential hospice home. Sponsored by Anderson Wealth Planning, the tournament will be held 10am - 6pm on Monday, December 4 at the gorgeous Hokuli’a Golf Club in Kealakekua. Participants will enjoy a complimentary tournament shirt, continental breakfast, lunch, an awards banquet, prizes and a silent auction.  Golfers are also eligible to compete for one of eight spots in the Million Dollar Hole-in-One Shootout. Mission: Communicates the value of the Chamber to its membership and acts as a support function to all other committees, programs and events by providing marketing services.

Develops, directs and oversees all Chamber publications, print and online, as well as marketing, public relations and communication efforts and activities for the Chamber, including the monthly newsletter, Kona-Kohala Connections, annual membership magazine, The Source and Chamber website.

County of Hawai'i: Free Residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection (Sat. 9 Dec, 2017 7:30 am - 2:30 pm)

Free Residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Event Information: A Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event will occur between 7:30a.m. and 2:30p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Kailua-Kona (Kealakehe) Recycling and Transfer Station.

Thes eevents are for household-generated and self-hauled waste only. Business, government agency, non-profit agency or farm wastes are not allowed. NO electronic waste and no tires will be accepted. The County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management holds these regular collection events so that households can conveniently dispose of acceptable household hazardous waste in a manner that protects both public health and the environment. Acceptable household hazardous waste includes automotive fluids, used batteries, fluorescent lights and pesticides. Latex paint will be accepted at the Hilo and Kona events for reuse.

Join us for a fun filled Casino Masquerade Ball themed event at Big Island Collision Center located at 73-5568 Olowalu St. Enjoy some light pupus provided by Fosters Kitchen as you "gamble" for this year's bragging rights for the most casino chips won.

Don't forget to bring your new unwrapped toy to this special event. All toys generated from this event will be donated to Hawaii Family Support Services. Also, this will be the last time you are able to place your bid on our Silent Auction, Bid for Hawai'i. We look forward to seeing you there for some great networking.

All members are asked to please call the Chamber office directly, or register through the link below to RSVP for this event.

Please park in the Home Depot parking lot, where a shuttle will be provided to transport you to the event. Some street parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking is not permitted on the property.

In lieu of the customary event admission fee, attendees are encouraged to bring a new, un-wrapped toy to donate to Hawaii Family Support Services. A free RSVP is mandatory so that the event hosts may estimate an attendee count.

County of Hawaii: Seeking Applicants for Boards and Commissions (All day)

County Seeking Applicants for Boards and Commissions

The County of Hawai’i is seeking applicants to fill vacancies in various Boards and Commissions, notably the Salary Commission, the Liquor Commission, Environmental Management Commission and Windward Planning Commission.

Members of Boards and Commissions serve for staggered terms of five years, on a voluntary basis. Travel expenses to and from meetings are reimbursed.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, residents of the State of Hawai’i, and may not hold any other public office. 

The Mayor’s Office will fill the vacancies on Boards and Commissions from a list of applicants. Application forms are available online at www.hawaiicounty.gov/office-of-the-mayor
