Start Your Engines! Pinewood Derby Races into Kona Commons
KAILUA-KONA, HAWAI`I (April 14, 2025) – The thrill of the track returns as the Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council, hosts its 2025 Pinewood Derby at Kona Commons Shopping Center on Saturday, April 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This exciting event will bring together Scouts from across West Hawai‘i as they race their handcrafted pinewood cars in a fun, family-friendly competition. Race brackets include Lions, Tigers, Bears, Wolves, and Webelos—with a high-energy Outlaw Race for Scouts and their families.
Held in the upper parking lot near Island Naturals at Kona Commons, the event is open to the public. Families, friends, and car enthusiasts are all invited to come cheer on the racers, admire vintage rides, and enjoy the community atmosphere.
